Weave twill on your rigid-heddle loom using two heddles, a pick-up stick, and a heddle rod for your setup. You’ll be entranced by this scarf with one side that shows off a twill and the other that highlights the luscious colors of the marled color-changing warp.

Weave a web as lovely as Charlotte’s on your rigid-heddle loom using a softly colored, slowchange yarn and a warp-float pattern. Just as friendship and words enriched Charlotte and those around her, weaving enriches our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

Curious about using two heddles on your rigid-heddle loom? Nancy’s scarf is the perfect introduction to the technique and will open up the possibilities for weaving many more structures with ease.

Weaving two lace blocks at the same time on the rigid-heddle loom, one with warp floats and the other with weft floats, creates a wonderful ribbonlike texture in this scarf. The floats are quite pronounced along the length of the scarf and stand out in relief, enhanced by a variegated warp and a contrasting-color solid weft.

Pair a variegated warp with plain weave and 3/1 lace to create this lightweight scarf with a subtle checkerboard pattern. After establishing the two blocks, one on a pick-up stick and the other on a heddle rod, weaving goes quickly with one shuttle.
