Handwoven Summer 2026

Start off your summertime weaving with rich colors that fill you with joy. From articles that will help you stop struggling with color, to ten projects to weave, this issue shows ways to integrate a rainbow of colors, hues, and shades into your handwovens.

You’ll weave towels that explore the intriguing intersection of contrast and motif, and others that are inspired by sunflowers and cosmos in the garden. There’s a design that has colors based on a month of high temperatures, and striking towels you can easily make while leading a live weaving demo at the fair. One scarf shows how to weave a glowing effect, while another uses clasped weft to create a subdued (and very elegant) piece.
