Most sheep live outside on farmland, grazing on grasses, forbs, and clover for an average of seven hours a day, with many given free rein until shearing and lambing season. These knitted sheep march across endless knitted plains eating fresh vegetation. It’s your own personal flock!
YARN Brown Sheep Company Prairie Spun DK (100% wool; 256 yd [234 m]/3½ oz; DK); #DK10 Rain Cloud (MC) and #DK90 Lost Lake (CC), 1 skein each.
NEEDLES Size 4 (3.5 mm) and Size 6 (4 mm) circular (cir) Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Marker; tapestry needle.
GAUGE 22 sts and 27 rnds = about 4" (10 cm) in stranded colorwork in the rnd on larger needles, blocked.
FINISHED SIZE 11" (28 cm) tall and 26" (66 cm) circumference.
NOTE
Cowl is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. The garter edgings are worked on smaller circular needles, with the stranded colorwork portion worked on larger circular needles. It may be helpful to place a marker between each chart rep.
