Worked in the round from the bottom up with stranded colorwork leaf motifs, this beanie is an ode to leaves, the transition between seasons, and the process of photosynthesis. The stylized leaf is based loosely off the shape of the birch, Tanis’s favorite tree and the state tree of New Hampshire. The apex of the hat comes together to form a star motif, symbolizing the transfer of energy between the sun and the leaves that takes place during photosynthesis.
