Sweet Petite Bargello Needle Case

The beauty of bargello not only lies in visual appreciation, but it is also very easy to learn. Other benefits include an abundance of pattern possibilities, and if you love color, it lends well to experimentation with design and color work.

Materials

• Brown Sheep Company Waverly Wool Needlepoint Yarn, 100% wool, 8 yd (7.3 m)/hank, 2 hanks each of 6021, 6002, 6003, and 6034
• Mono 12-count needlepoint canvas cut to 7½" × 4½" (19.1 × 11.4 cm)
• Size 24 tapestry needle
• Lining fabric: 8" × 5" (20.3 × 12.7 cm) piece of stable
• fabric (e.g., velvet, Ultrasuede, felt), nothing stretchy or too thick
• Page fabric: 5½" × 2¾" (14 × 7 cm) linen or flannel
• ½ yd (45.7 cm) lace trim, about ½" (13 mm) wide
• Two 8" (20.3 cm) lengths of ribbon, such as ¼" (6 mm) grosgrain ribbon
• Sewing needle; thread to match Bargello yarn/lining/ page fabric; straight pins

Finished size: Open, about 6½" × 3½" (16.5 × 8.9 cm); folded closed, about 3½" × 3½" (8.9 × 8.9 cm).
