You’ll find the written instructions for each square of this throw blanket in this pattern supplement
Samplers were popular methods of sharing patterns, teaching stitches, and passing knowledge down to future generations. Knitters would read the sampler to be able to recreate the pattern in their designs. This throw was inspired by a sampler from 1800 that currently resides in the Brooklyn Museum. It measures 3½ inches (8.9 centimeters) wide and 15 feet (4.6 meters) long and contains over 70 stitch blocks to study and recreate.
In this pattern supplement, you’ll find the written instructions for each square. However, since this is just a pattern supplement, you must reference the remaining instructions in PieceWork Summer 2025. You’ll find the materials, information, charted patterns, and finishing instructions for completing your blanket in that issue.
