Learn two ways to enhance and customize your woven projects with color.
At our Weave Together 2025 event, the lovely Angela Tong will teach a class on Clasped Warp and Weft. Enjoy a special FREE preview of this skill guide on the topic, to get you excited about this must-know technique.
Add color and design with clasped warp and weft!
If you love the look of a painted skein but want more control over the color changes—without dealing with dye—clasped warp and weft are for you! These techniques work in similar ways. Two yarns meet at some point, wrap around one another, and then move back toward the direction they started from. The difference, of course, is that one happens in the warp and one in the weft.
The design possibilities with clasped warp and weft are endless, and the only limitation is your imagination.
