When she learned she'd be designing with Jagger Spun yarns for this Loom Theory project, designer Tammy Bast was absolutely delighted. She loves color, so the Kokadjo, a merino and silk blend, really called out.
When the yarn arrived and Tammy knew she needed to design a scarf that would highlight not just the colors, but also the yarn’s incredible plush feel. The floats in rosepath twill keep the sumptuous feel, and stripes at the ends of the scarf create a gorgeous color gamp. Wear this brightly colored lightweight scarf in spring, when the mornings are still a little chilly, paired with a light jacket. Throw it around your shoulders for a summer evening seaside stroll. Wear it all winter with your favorite turtleneck to remind you on the darkest days that spring will come again. This is an all-season scarf.

Rigid-heddle loom, 16" weaving width; two 10-dent heddles; 4 shuttles.
YARNS
Warp: Kokadjo (90% superwash wool/10% silk; 435 yd/3.5 oz; 1,960 yd/lb; Jagger Spun), Canary and Lake, 134 yd each; Chartreuse and Spring Fling, 89 yd each. Weft: Kokadjo, Canary, 63 yd; Lake, 46 yd; Chartreuse, 344 yd; Spring Fling, 40 yd.
WARP LENGTH
160 ends 100" long (allows 5" for take-up, 20" for loom waste; loom waste includes fringe).
SETTS
Warp: 10 epi (1 per slot and hole in a 10-dent heddle). Weft: 12–13 ppi.
DIMENSIONS
Width in the heddle: 16". Woven length: (measured under tension on the loom) 75". Finished size: 12" x 62" with 3½" fringe Twill.

In the planning stages of this scarf, Susan and Melissa talked about ways to combine two colors in the same weft pick. At first, they considered clasped weft but ultimately decided instead to use the slit-weft technique.
