It all started the day Amy Abbott's six-year-old daughter asked her to make a “little purse.” Having woven yards of inkle bands over the years, Amy hypothesized that if she joined the edges of two bands, the doubled width would be just the right size for a small coin purse. After some experimental folding with a double-width band, she came up with a design for a nowaste, two-pocket purse with a flap—thrifty and definitely low tech!
The box-bottom design is simple to sew, and the square bottom makes it excellent for carrying weaving tools and supplies.
