About this Project

After finishing a scarf, designer Tina Glassenbury had some spare warp and decided to experiment with alternative treadlings. One of these new motifs reminded her of a moth, so she refined the design using Fiberworks until she was happy with the shape—and then moved on to trying out weft colors. She found that the most pleasing effect used colors of similar saturation for the motifs, and less saturated colors for the stripes in between—and she turned her samples into wall hangings.
